Masobyo Mausoleum (Mazu Miao Temple) is a new Taoist temple in Yokohama Chinatown established in 2006. About 1000 years ago, a woman who lived during the Song Dynasty was deified and enshrined as a Goddess for the safety of travelers in South China. Priest Toko Shinetsu brought a statue of the goddess to Japan around 1680. The goddess gives blessings for not only travels, but also health and happiness. The friendly staff here will help you worship in the proper Chinese way. Masobyo Mausoleum is a two-minute-walk from Suzaku Gate, the nearest gate from Motomachi Shopping Street.
