To tell the truth, I didn't want to tell you about this park. It's my favorite place in Yokohama and I'd prefer to keep the crowds away! But only for you, the readers of Japan Travel, will I share its secrets. Italia-yama Park, only a 5-minute-walk from JR Ishikawa-cho Station on the Kehin Tohoku Line, is a beautiful place to enjoy the sunset. It also has a beautiful wide-open view of Yokohama, from the skyline of Minato Mirai to Marine Tower and Yokohama Bay Bridge. Actually, it is not busy at all except on the day of the yearly summer fireworks festival. There are two lovely houses in the park, the Diplomat’s House and Bluff No.18, and the Italian Consulate General's office was situated on this hill from 1880 to 1886.
