After the cherry blossoms are gone, the tourist season in Kamakura has a short break. But the flowers in Tokei-ji Temple in Kita-Kamakura pass the baton on to the next group of flowers, one after another. So, please don’t hesitate to come here! Double flowering cherry, weeping cherry, a few types of camellias, Japanese quince, peony, and many more flowers grow here. The 20th chief priest, Tenshu-ni, was forced to enter this nunnery at the age of seven by the Shogun, Tokugawa Ieyasu, mortal enemy of her grandfather, Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
