AMUSEMENT PARK IS NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Last updated: Aug 31, 2020

Nerima City might be a comfortable residential area but tell that to the visitors of Toshimaen Amusement Park. One of the city's best loved attractions, Toshimaen is also one of Japan's largest amusement parks and a great place to take the family.

With a little bit of everything for everybody, Toshimaen satisfies the younger kids with some old-school rides and terrorises the older kids and adults with wild spiral roller coasters and perennial favourite, the Pirate Ship. Over thirty rides can be found here including the world's oldest amusement park carousel, and a seriously massive water park featuring Olympic-sized pools, diving platforms and dizzying water slides.

Toshimaen is also great when the seasons change - cherry blossom trees in the spring, leaves changing colour in autumn, the water park in summer, and even an ice-skating rink in winter. There are, of course, the usual food and rest areas common to all amusement parks where you can rest up and recharge before following the kids onto the next attraction.

Park entry tickets start from ¥500 for children to ¥1,000 for adults. Children under three are free. Ride admission is charged separately though you can purchase a 22-ticket ride voucher for ¥2,000 or a one-day unlimited ride ticket for ¥4,300 (includes entry). Discounts are available for tickets purchased online. If your visit happens to fall on a day when the park is hosting one of its family-oriented flea markets, park admission drops to only ¥200, a great little money saver if you are lucky enough.
