Koishikawa Korakuen is situated in the very center of Tokyo, in a 5-minute walk from Iidabashi or Suidabashi Stations on the JR Chuo Line. It is a classical Japanese garden with ponds, bridges, stones, carp and scenic views.
I visit Koishikawa Korakuen quite often, mostly in the springtime, and enjoy watching the cherry blossoms and many other blooming flowers. Though located near lively Tokyo Dome City, Koishikawa Korakuen is a rather quiet place, good for relaxing. The garden isn’t very big, so it is easy to walk around and access all of its corners that are made with great skill. I always think that real artists arrange Japanese gardens using textures and contrasts of colors. Even on a rainy day the garden is wonderful!
I like to take photos of Japanese gardens, and Koishikawa Korakuen provides a lot of unique views. As we say – “ it’s better to see one time than to hear ten times,” so I recommend seeing th beautiful garden.
