As people increasingly pursue a mindful lifestyle that is more in touch with nature, Midori no Kanshasai recognizes those who have made significant contributions in green efforts and welcomes visitors to partake in the fun and meaningful activities onsite.

Event Report (2018)

This year's event is the 29th iteration and will be held on 11-12 May, running from 11am to 5pm and 10am to 4pm respectively. During the two days, the event will feature two separate programs, each catering to kids or adults to keep everyone entertained.

Located at Hibiya Park, this fun and educational event with more than 100 booths selling local delights and organizing activities is the perfect opportunity for a family day out. Throughout the event, many companies, groups, and non-profit organisations that are centered around nature participate in the festival. Celebrities, musicians, ambassadors and experts will also grace the event. A host of activities such as tree climbing experiences, crafting your own postcards with leaves, food-tasting of charcoal grilled shiitake mushrooms and the like can be enjoyed.

In 2018, the event even offered a virtual reality flying experience! layers hang from an indoor hang glider to enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the forest.

Satisfy your festival food cravings with delicious charcoal grilled shiitake mushroom, shirasu don from Oarai-cho port in Ibaraki and baked manju with sweet miso tare sauce while being entertained by stage performances by Kumamon, Nameko and Gunma-chan, the mascots for Kumamoto, Fukuoka and Gunma Prefectures respectively.

For many years, Midori no Kanshasai has been a great platform for industry players and city-dwellers to mingle and connect, learning about the each other's progress and concerns, or simply to have a good time together!

Don't miss out on the Midori no Kanshasai festivities this year!
