Geibikei is a 2-kilometer-long canyon formed by the Satetsu River, surrounded by over 50-meter-high rock walls and culminating at 124 meters. The name "Geibi", which means "lion's nose", comes from a limestone formation near one end of the canyon that looks exactly like this.
Geibikei Gorge is just a 5 minutes walk from Geibikei Station on JR Ofunato Line, departing from Ichinoseki Station.
