Lake Tazawa was voted one of Japan's 100 Best Landscapes. The lake's cobalt blue water is so transparent that you can clearly see the fish swimming under the water's surface.
The lake has a maximum depth of 423.4 m, making it the deepest lake in Japan. The water changes color from sky blue to turquoise and indigo the deeper the water gets. Visitors can see this amazing spectacle for themselves using a number of boat options available including pleasure boats, pedal boats, canoes, kayaks and "" SUP "" (Stand Up Paddle Boards). It is advisable to go around the lake by bike, on foot or by car, as the color of the water changes depending on the perspective.
