Kanteibyo is a mausoleum of Guan Yu (?-220), who was a general in the late Hang Dynasty. His life is well known from the story of “Romance of Three Kingdoms.” He was a prominent soldier, always faithful, and really good at accounting. After his death, he was defied and enshrined at thousands of Kanteibyo Mausoleums all over the world!

Yokohama's Kanteibyo Mausoleum encourages you to offer up your prayers in a proper Chinese way. Friendly staff will help and instruct you at the prayer hall. If you would like to try, don’t hesitate. You can buy incense sticks near the gate.
