Aichi's Oagata Shrine is home to a plum grove with over 300 weeping trees in shades of red, pink, and white. Each year a plum festival is held to celebrate their beauty, along with a range of additional events for guests to enjoy. Ikebana (flower arranging) displays, taiko drum performances, and even a tea ceremony are just some examples of the fun on offer.
Admission to the festival is free.
Oagata Shrine is located around 20 minutes on foot or a five minute taxi ride from Gakuden Station, served by the Meitetsu Komaki Line.
For those who plan to drive to the shrine, it's located around 25 minutes from the Meishin Expressway's Komaki Interchange. Free parking is available on-site for over 200 vehicles.
